The very successful TCU Reading Festival on Saturday morning, October 24, 2009 welcomed about 3600 North Texas elementary students to TCU’s new indoor football practice facility, where the TCU Famous Reading Frogs and other elite volunteers read to and with the four to eleven-year olds!  Students were given three age-appropriate books and an array of special prizes and posters; Wal*Mart-Sam’s Stores also gave free eye examinations.  Dr. Melody Johnson, FWISD superintendent, and Chief Academic Officer Michael Sorum attended, mingling with and encouraging many students, staff and faculty members.  Miss 2009 Fort Worth, Faith Bates, and Miss Teen Fort Worth greeted folks and autographed pictures.  A special teepee was set up for animated story telling, and fun was to be had for all.  SCORE A GOAL IN THE CLASSROOM thanks all who came and had a part!!
