Score A Goal In The Classroom hosted the finals of the 2012 NORTH TEXAS READING BEE CHAMPIONSHIPS on Saturday, November 17, at TCU. Twenty-eight North Texas contestants competed to see which second grader would emerge as #1 Reading Bee Champ. Congratulations to SAM WILLEY, a very outstanding 2nd grader at Holy Family Catholic School, the new 2012 CHAMP, who won reading at a college freshman level! Besides special tickets to TCU basketball, Dallas Stars hockey, and Texas Ranger baseball games, Sam won a laptop computer, a Go-Kart, an I-pod Bookmark, and a $500 savings bond from EECU.
Runner-up was Kennedy Stevens from East Fort Worth Montessori. Kavi Stevick, from St. Andrews Catholic School, took third place; coming in fourth was Cameron White from Joshua ISD. Kenna Clark, representing Granbury ISD, came in fifth. CONGRATULATIONS to all these top readers who have worked hard to become top-notch readers!
